• Gesha (Fremantle)

A day trip within a holiday is perhaps one of the nicest ways to relax and see more of a city's sites.  Everyone recommends Rottnest Island and we stopped off at the lovely Freemantle for breakie on the way.  Gesha caught our eye as a popular spot with parking out the front.  We were not disappointed.

The coffee was smooth, light and frothy with creamy milk.  It was not too strong and I enjoyed its subtlety.

I ordered the beans with poached eggs.  The beans were just cooked enough, piping hot in the serving pan.  The eggs were well poached.  The dish was given a kick with green pickles chilli and herbs, making it flavoursome, hearty and warming.  Flat bread had been warmed in the oven and then cut so that the inside was soft.

It was busy for a Friday morning and for being just out of the main throng of activity, but I could see why locals would flock to this main-road-in-front-of-a-car-park destination.  The food was tasty, coffee descent and atmosphere lively.  A sunny day can show a nice table in the sun out the front (despite being literally in the car park), whilst inside shows a chilled, comfy vibe.
